Karel Marquez Gives Birth and Breastfeeding Already After C-Section

Yesterday, June 19, 2019, at 1:46 p.m., Karel Marquez Fariñas gave birth to her third child, son Kobe Federico, via emergency C-section at St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City in Taguig. Based on her social media posts, the new mom of three seems to be doing well, and she has already started breastfeeding her newborn.

“We had our successful breastfeeding sesh just now too at 4:29 p.m. and he is fast asleep na. I am so happy,” Karel wrote as she announced the birth of her second son on Instagram. “So happy there is milk for him. I’ve been praying hard for this,” she added, sharing her delight with her followers.

At the time of posting, Baby Kobe was asleep beside his mom in the hospital’s recovery room. Four hours after, they were transferred in her birthing room. “Skin to skin before [the] next breastfeeding sesh...I feel super, super relaxed and just great,” Karel shared.

Karel’s original due date due was June 24, but according to an Instagram post by her husband, Sean Farinas, her last ultrasound showed she was about “to pop.” Sean and Karel did not elaborate on the ultrasound’s results. Karel only said on Instagram: “I was NOT ready to check in today, LOL. But due to circumstance, I’ll be a week early pala. I had to finish my hospital/baby back so quickly awhile ago.”

As his wife neared her due date, Sean described Karel as a superwoman. “Pregnant but more productive than me on a daily basis. Never nagged or demanded anything except for the seldom food craving,” he posted on June 7. “She had every right to demand time and whatever she needed from me, but she didn’t. I am beyond lucky,” Sean added.

Based on the photos she has been sharing, Karel looked calm and relaxed. She did share that not only was she was born in a St. Luke’s hospital, but her first two kids were also born in the same institution. She also revealed her doctors were her godmother and friends of her dad’s.

Karel’s husband described the birth of his on as the best day of his life.” Thanking GOD that both Karel and Kobe are doing well,” Sean wrote as he announced the birth of his son on Instagram. “Thank you love @iamkarelmarquez, I love you!” he added.

Sean and Karel announced the pregnancy in November 2018 after having two miscarriages in 2017. They already have two beautiful kids, daughter Keiley and son Kyler, (from Karel’s previous relationship). The two older kids are for sure excited to meet the newest member of their family.
