KC Concepcion’s shoutouts to both her dads on Father’s Day were not just displays of love but also of gratitude and forgiveness.
On Instagram, KC posted a photo that showed her young self (she could have been 5 or 6 years old in the picture) sitting on Gabby Concecpion’s shoulders. Her caption revealed she has three-hour conversations with her father and share a love for the sea as she remarked on their kayak dates and appetite for seafood. (Gabby is also an avid diver).
KC, who calls Gabby “Papa,” says he’s “like a buddy to me.” She continues, “We are not just father and daughter, but we are good friends too. The past may not have been ideal nor perfect, but what counts is what we do to make up for lost time today and in the future.”
KC recalled Gabby’s advice when she is heartbroken: “As time stretches, people change. You will see the true character of the people around you and who will stay in your life as time stretches.”
KC agreed with him and ends her Father’s Day message with, “And I’m glad that although I lost him once, he came back to my life and stayed.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
On her post for dad, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, KC didn’t hold back her love for her stepfather, whom Sharon Cuneta married when she was “12 going on 13” years old. She called him, “The one who completed my sense of family when he married my mother.”
On her caption, KC revealed how their family bonded when they were living in Boston, thanks to Sen. Kiko’s efforts.
“He arranged our daily schedule and did everything for our family to function well even while mom, he and I were all studying at the same time! Dad in Harvard Kennedy School of Government, mom in Boston College, and me in Beaver Country Day School. He not only brought me to my dental appointments, ice skating training, and to see my favorite musical bands, he also cheered the loudest at soccer games and skating competitions.”
KC wrote that Sen. Pangilinan taught her how to be woke and adulting that included doing household chores. “He assigned me my favorite chore which was doing the dishes, and taught me how to do the groceries, budget my money, maintain a diary, and also toughen up because ‘life is hard and not always fair.’”
She ends her caption for Sen Kiko with this: “I’m forever thankful for the patience, discipline, support, and order he put into our lives. I still remember how proud I was as a teen to finally have someone to call Dad.”CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos

Sharon sent KC ube pandesal, and KC posted her mom’s note on her Instagram and wrote thiscaption: “Ma you could give me material things...Gifts, diamonds, money... but it’s your letters and words of encouragement, knowing that you remember me, that mean the most to me than any of that. And yes... UBE for the win. Hahahaha! I love you.”
