KwentongJollibee's 'Date' Is A Reminder of Love & Family
  • How do you celebrate the day of hearts when your significant other is no longer around?

The last installment of #KwentongJollibeeValentineSeries entitled Date begins with the voice of a man remotely giving his pre-teen son instructions on how to set up a perfect Valentine date -- the flowers, the balloons, the food (Mama's favorite!), the works. The young man willingly obliges, himself looking aptly dressed for an important occasion.

In the next frame, the mom arrives, alone, and what follows is a heart-wrenching scene that reveals how the dad, who has passed on, by way of a video he pre-recorded while he was still alive, continues to be part of the lives of the family members he left behind in every occasion, Valentine's Day included.

    Watch the poignant video here:

Jollibee uploaded Date at around 5:30 p.m. today, and it already has more than 600,000 views and almost 60,000 shares. As of this writing, there have been more than 12,000 comments, many of which are "complaints" about the onslaught of tears after watching. Here's a preview of some:

"Gahhhh!!! Walangya ka Jollibee! Nagtatrabaho ako ng maayos dito eh!" --Audrey Tan Go

"Gusto ko bucket of chicken. Binigay nyo bucket of feels!!" --Alphonse Louie Enriquez Belarmino

"Pwede sabay sabay nyo na i-upload? Para isang iyakan na lang?"--Anna Zareenah Trinidad

"Susme bumaha dito baka umabot diyan."--Toby Santos Nazareth

Aldrinos Andres actually wrote a letter:
"Dear Jollibee, may masama po ba kaming ginawa para paulet ulet niyo kaming paiyakin? Na paulet ulet niyong ipakita sa amin na mahirap ang umaasa, ang may makasama ang magkaroon ng taong dadamayan ka. Pero alam mo kung anong natutunan ko? Ang maniwalangna sanay pagibig pa rin ang isipin ng bawat isa sa mundo."
