A week after their ‘vintage romance’ prenup shoot, celebrity couple Kylie Padilla and Aljur Abrenica surprised everyone with a grand wedding that happened Tuesday night, December 11, 2018. According to their wedding organizer, La Belle Fête, not only did the couple had merely two weeks to plan the event, but they had one hour to transform the venue from the ceremony to reception look!
Even Kylie’s bridal makeup by Mark Kingson Qua was booked only late last month. “La Belle Fête recommended me and since we follow one another on Instagram, I think she was convinced,” Qua tells SmartParenting.com.ph in an interview via Instagram direct message. “We did not even have a trial — we met for the first time the day itself and doon na kami nag-usap kung ano ‘yung gusto niya.”

Qua shares that Kylie came with makeup pegs — she wanted a romantic look for the ceremony with glowing skin — but gave her complete trust to the makeup artist. After all, Qua was also responsible for her ‘Tita’ Mariel Padilla’s daily makeup for a noontime show.
“Nakikita ni Kylie ‘yung work ko on Mariel, so she said she was excited to work with me,” he shared. “Masaya kasi habang nag-me-makeup ako sa kanya, puri lang siya ng puri na ang ganda ng makeup. So nakakagana lalo and nakakataba ng puso.”

An emotional affair
In one of the videos Qua posted on his Instagram, Kylie, who was wearing her wedding gown, was trying not to cry while her hairstylist Renz Pangilinan was adjusting her veil. But Qua shares it was an emotional day for her. “She was crying the whole time!” he says.
“Hindi ko na mabilang kung ilang beses, pero marami, lampas ten,” he adds.
Kylie’s family was complete and present during the wedding, as was Aljur’s, so it was understandable that the emotions were running high — “iyakan most of the time,” Qua says.
Qua, who also groomed Aljur, tells Smart Parenting the couple were super excited for the wedding. “Aligaga sila both, as in, ‘di mapakali sa upuan,” he shares. “Pareho sila ng emotions ni Aljur — kabadong excited.”
The couple got ready on separate rooms, but Qua said they were both radiating happiness. “Super ramdam mo ‘yung kilig at love.”

Kylie’s mommy duties
Qua shares with us an intimate moment between Kylie and her son, Alas. The 1-year-old was the ringbearer during the wedding, but by the time it ended an hour and a half later, he was most likely hungry and cranky (like any other toddler would be).
As soon as she sat down for makeup for the wedding reception, Kylie breastfed Alas. “He fell asleep right after,” Qua shares.
Qua, who was also invited to watch the wedding, chose to stay in the room to prepare for Kylie’s second look. “She wanted dark lips — a deep red. Nag-bawas ako ng eye shadow and switched the highlight to a more copper shade, para lips ang umangat,” he shares. He also removed most of Kylie’s base for her reception look to emphasize her natural, glowing skin.
Kylie changed into a black gown for the reception — a look that was complete opposite of her bridal glow. But it was nevertheless stunning.
