  • Former actor Leandro Munoz is now a dad of two. He recently shared how his transgender son told him about his sexuality in Paolo Contis’s YouTube show Just In.

“He was crying, sabi niya, ‘I need help… I need help maybe from a psychiatrist.’” Leandro recalled having the conversation with Frankie, then only 16. He admitted to being attracted to the same sex.

Leandro didn’t hesitate to assure Frankie that there is nothing wrong with him or that he likes the same sex. He told his son that f it’s what makes him happy, he should just “go with that you feel.”

“My point here is kailangan talagang i-support natin what makes our children happy,” Leandro stressed. “Kung mayroon kayong anak na trying to come out, give a hundred percent support,” he added.

Since then, Frankie, now 26, didn’t have to hide his identity. “Hindi na siya nagtago, Leandro said. He’s been living as a transgender man for a decade. “He’s a male, a trans male. He’s very, very happy,” he added.

He also shared that Frankie plans to take psychology because of the support he got from his family. It’s also the field of study that helped him.

The actor also didn’t plan to hide that he’s a dad to a transgender man. “This is something I will never ever hide from the public, or anyone should hide from the public because this is a serious matter,” Leandro said.

Leandro starred in movies, such as Isusumbong Kita sa Tatay Ko (1999) with the late Fernando Poe Jr. and Judy Ann Santos and Anak (2000) with Vilma Santos and Claudine Barretto. He is now based in California, in the U.S. Leandro and his wife Sheryl also welcomed a baby boy Mason in January.
