Lucy Torres reveals her strong bond with daughter
In an Instagram post of a photo that showed her illustrations of chairs, Lucy Torres recently revealed how a 9-year-old Julianna helped her mom during a difficult time in her life. (Although Lucy didn't elaborate what happened, Pep.ph said it was around the time of when she was running for office.) She was doodling in her kitchen table "somewhere back in time." Sometimes her husband, Richard Gomez, would help her draw, too, but it was Juliana who joined her and colored Lucy's sketches. "I probably did not talk much, lost as I was in my thoughts, but working with my hands was a better option than staring into space. And the then-nine-year-old little being beside me was a healing presence, with her happy choice of colors and even happier (and yes, sometimes funny) stories," Lucy continued. "She did not question my tears or my silence, but she sat beside me and basically helped me be sad, I guess without even knowing that she was doing just that," she added.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Lucy put their creations on cards, and some were framed and displayed in their kitchen. "I share this little backstory in the hope of comforting anyone going through a rough patch, whatever it is. We cope in different ways," Lucy continued. "As with most things, everything just passes. It always blows over. It always falls into place. Somehow, life can always be good and gentle that way," she ended her post. (pep.ph)ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Drew Barrymore turns daughter meltdown into funny photo-op
The Santa Clarita Diet star shared her unique way of dealing with her daughters' meltdown. Drew, who has two daughters, said going to a Disney theme park is always fun, but "if you've ever taken your kids to Disneyland or Disney World, it all ends at some point in mayhem," she told Seth Meyers on The Late Night with Seth Meyers. When they went to the Disney World in Florida, her daughter Olive, 4, wanted to chase a bird and threw a tantrum when her mom tried to stop her. Instead of losing her temper, Drew took a photo! "This (photo) is how it always ends for me," she shared. On tantrums, Drew has had a few realizations. Since you cannot predict tantrums and meltdowns, the actress advises, "I think you should have 10 consistent tools in your arsenal. It's either the tender loving approach or the 'I'm very serious' approach." Seth chimes in, "I like your approach which is a photo-op!" Watch her interview clip here.
