TV host Mariel Padilla recently received a negative comment from a netizen who said it was “sad” that her new baby is a girl.
On Saturday, November 9, 2019, Mariel took to Instagram to share a photo from her maternity shoot, marking the 39th week of her pregnancy with her second daughter Gabriela. She even poked fun at herself, writing, “I don’t look like this anymore.”

The remark caught the attention of the celebrity mom, who replied, “How the hell could another sweet baby girl be sad?”
The netizen responded, “[It’s] not what you think. Yeah [it’s] angel it’s a blessing. I thought [it’s] a boy.” She also introduced herself as a fan of Mariel’s husband Robin Padilla.
Mariel wrote back, “So how is it sad?”
The netizen’s last message to Mariel was, “Never mind!!!!!!!!!!!!”
While Mariel did not respond to this netizen’s comments anymore, a number of her followers jumped to her defense.
Tagging the netizen, one follower said, “Why would you say such a thing? You have to think before you type, words written or spoken is something you can’t take back. Damage is already done. It is sad that you don’t understand what you just wrote.”

Other followers emphasized that all children, regardless of their sex, are blessings to their parents’ lives.

“Oo nga why sad? Babies are blessings no matter [what] the gender is… as long [as] the baby and momma will be healthy naman,” another commented.
Still, nothing appears to dampen Mariel’s excitement for the arrival of her second baby. The celebrity mom is currently staying in the US, which is where she also gave birth to her first child Isabella back in 2016.
Aside from Gabriela’s arrival, the Padillas have another exciting reason to celebrate, as Isabella just celebrated her third birthday on November 14!
