Actress Michelle Yeoh has just dedicated her historic Oscar win to her mama and all the mothers in the world, acknowledging the great responsibility that parents hold.
“I will have to dedicate this to my mom, all the moms in the world, because they are really superheroes and without them, none of us will be here tonight,” Yeoh said in her speech at Dolby Theatre in California.

“She’s 84 and I’m taking this home to her. She’s watching right now in Malaysia KL with my family and friends. I love you guys,” added the ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ lead, who is also the first Asian to get the Best Actress in a Leading Role trophy.

Earlier in the ceremony, a tearful Ke Huy Quan proudly showed off his Oscars trophy and dedicated his win to his 84-year-old mom.
“Mom, I just won an Oscar!” said Ke Huy Quan, with the video of his speech now expectedly evolving into a meme.
“She’s 84, she’s at home watching…they say stories like this only happen in the movies. I cannot believe it’s happening to me. This is the American dream,” the 95th Academy Awards Best Supporting Actor said.

In a post-ceremony press conference, the Asian artist said when his name was announced onstage, “the first image that I had in my mind was my mom.”
“My mom who is the reason why I’m in America, who’s the reason why I have a better life, I have all these opportunities. She sacrificed so much, she had a great life where we came from, and she gave all that up [for] all the children, there’s nine of us. And every single one of them is so grateful to my parents,” he added.
Jamie Lee Curtis, who just won her first Oscar after nearly five decades in TV and movies, also dedicated her win to her late parents Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, both of whom were nominated but never achieved the coveted award.
“I know it looks like I am standing up here by myself but I am not,” she said, as she thanked colleagues, artists, crew members, her family and friends, before tearfully remembering her parents.
“And my mother and my father were both nominated for Oscars in different categories, I just won an Oscar,” she said.
