Importance of the MILA app
A 2023 study conducted in the Philippines revealed that Electronic Health Records (EHRs) have demonstrated significant efficacy in enhancing healthcare outcomes, attributed to improved accessibility and retrieval of health information.
Dr. Katrina Florcruz-Dacanay, a pediatrician, medical editor, and health content creator, emphasized how the MILA app can help parents, especially mothers.
"It takes a lot of brainwork to keep all these records, especially if you're not in the medical profession," she said.
The MILA app's simple and easy-to-use interface is perfect for busy parents
MILA app then would act as that centralized receptacle where parents can input all of their kids' health records.
"Having an app will make data access portable, point of care accessible, and timely ang intervention natin," Dr. Dacanay added.
She also appreciates how the app can ensure accuracy of data and patient's especially for parents who live in rural areas.
On its first year, MILA Kids aims to digitize medical records. Eventually, it also hopes to create a MILA Care Card to give parents access to discounted health products and services in the long run.
The APK version of the app can be downloaded through its website for early access. The full version of the app will be available for download on the App Store for iPhone users and Google Play Store for Android users by end of May.
