When the community quarantines were enforced, many Filipinos lost their jobs and had limited access to food. CDO Foodsphere, the small business started by husband and wife, Pepe and Cora Ong from their kitchen and is now part of every Filipino household, responded quickly with “Million Meats Project.”
This initiative, a collaboration between CDO and its partners, aims to produce and distribute one million cans to thousands of families who need help during these difficult times.
CDO reached out to local government units to aid in distributing the products to the most affected communities. The first to receive cans of meatloaf were families from the municipality of Malvar in Batangas, Valenzuela City, and Malabon City. A total of 360,000 cans have been distributed to over 65,000 households, and there are more scheduled in the coming months.
