CDO Aims To Provide 1 Million Canned Goods To Families In NeedThe food company calls it its "Million Meats Project."by SmartParenting Staff .
When the community quarantines were enforced, many Filipinos lost their jobs and had limited access to food. CDO Foodsphere, the small business started by husband and wife, Pepe and Cora Ong from their kitchen and is now part of every Filipino household, responded quickly with “Million Meats Project.”
This initiative, a collaboration between CDO and its partners, aims to produce and distribute one million cans to thousands of families who need help during these difficult times.
CDO reached out to local government units to aid in distributing the products to the most affected communities. The first to receive cans of meatloaf were families from the municipality of Malvar in Batangas, Valenzuela City, and Malabon City. A total of 360,000 cans have been distributed to over 65,000 households, and there are more scheduled in the coming months.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Charmaine Ong-Castro, the project's lead said, “Everything about this project is collaborative and came as a contribution. It was even more gratifying when our other suppliers took part in the initiative and contributed to the project.”
This year is a milestone for the food giant as it celebrated its 45th anniversary last June 2020. It unveiled its refreshed identity and its new tagline, “Food that Brings You Home.”
