  • Social media has given everyone the outlet to express themselves, and unfortunately, for public personalities, it also means a lot of unsolicited advice. No one knows this more than celebrity moms who get a lot of people expressing their disapproval or dissatisfaction with their photo or status post. The worst, of course, are those that question or judge one's parenting skills.

Neri Miranda was the latest mom in the line of fire of some netizens. Over the weekend, she opened a new kiosk in SM Dasmarñas (Cavite) for her gourmet tuyo business. The mompreneur, who uses Instagram to promote her businesses, promised to drop by at the opening.

Unfortunately, Neri wasn't able to do so because she and husband Chito Miranda had to bring their son Miggy to the hospital. "Bisita na lang po kami kapag okay na si Miggy," Neri wrote on Instagram.

Chito also apologized via his Instagram for not being able to come. He shared that Miggy had a fever and had been throwing up for a few days now. "We were hoping na 'di siya ma-confine at aabot kami today sa Dasma for the opening of Neri's new kiosk, but unfortunately, we had to stay here," the new dad explained.

Neri and Chito's revelation that Miggy was in the hospital prompted Neri to add a postscript to her post. The mom, it seemed, had been getting a lot of comments like "palaging nasa hospital si Miggy tapos breastfeeding naman," somehow implying that breast milk wasn't "effective" for Miggy because he was always sick.

Anticipating these (unecessary) comments, Neri wrote, "Well, first of all, first-time mom ako kaya OA [over-reacting] ako mas lalo pagdating kay Miggy. Kapag di ako mapalagay, dinadala ko talaga si Miggy sa ospital para mas maalagaan pa si Miggy at mas mapanatag isip ko na [okay] si Miggy."

Neri made a good point when she said the reason why she refrains from turning to the Internet for answers to medical concerns: "Nakaka-praning." (It's why Saab Magalona's doctor advised her to stop Googling when she was pregnant.)

The new mom, who doesn't have have a yaya, felt better to have nurses and doctors in the hospital help her monitor her son's health.

Bow," Neri ended her post.

Thankfully, Miggy is on the road to recovery according to Chito's post.
