They have to do so anytime and anywhere duty calls, and one Filipino nurse displayed what it means.Many Filipinos are getting to know nurse Lorraine Pingol after getting photographed, helping a homeless pregnant woman give birth along the busy Osmeña Highway sidewalk in Brgy. They were attending to a 31-year-old pregnant woman who was about to give birth.
CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended VideosPingol didn't hesitate and offered to assist in the baby's delivery. "There's no other person to help them kundi ako...Saka nurse din naman ako. May sinumpaan kami," Pingol told ABS-CBN News.
The pregnant woman gave birth while lying on a carton box on an empty roadside parking lot. Using the equipment of Bangkal FERDS Makati, Pingol wiped the baby down after birth and cut the infant's umbilical cord.

Rescue Committee head Kagawad Christian Jacinto, a medical technician, described Pingol's behavior as calm and collected even though she was surrounded by bystanders who were in a panic.
Pingol is a company nurse and doesn't work in a hospital because she is currently in remission from leukemia, which affects the blood and bone marrow.
