  • Since Pauleen Luna and Vic Sotto tied the knot on January 30, 2016, everyone has been anxiously waiting for their union to bear fruit. And today, May 6, the Eat Bulaga co-hosts announced on the show they are expecting their first child together.

“Gusto ko pong sabihin sa Pilipinas at sa buong mundo, na buntis po ako," the 63-year-old began in jest and held his tummy at the same time. Then, he clarified, "Hindi po ako. Ang aking asawa ang buntis. Ang aming pong hiling ay dasal para...sa tagumpay ng aming anak. Lord Jesus, thank you very much."

Pauleen also took to Instagram to thank her husband for the unique way he announced her pregnancy. “Finally, a bun in the oven! Can't be more proud and excited to be a mom,” she wrote as a caption for the video clip from the noontime show. “Thank you to my handsome for surprising me with this announcement. Thank you, Lord, for being so gracious,” she added.

It's the 28-year-old's first pregnancy. Vic already has four kids -- Danica and  Oyo (with ex-wife actress Dina Bonnevie) who are already parents themselves, Paulina (with Angela Luz) who recently got married, and Vico (with actress Coney Reyes) -- from his previous relationships.

In an interview with Pep.ph, Pauleen revealed she and Vic had not talked about announcing the pregnancy and was surprised herself when Vic made the announcement. “Nagulat ako dun! Hindi ako prepared!” she said. Pauleen also disclosed that she’s 10 weeks along the family way, and her doctor had asked her to take plenty of rest.

“Hindi naman ganun kahirap ang pagbubuntis ko, pero hindi naman madali. Pero okay na ako. Ang nakakaloka lang, may mga pimples ako!” she said. Morning sickness is currently not a problem for her, but she does experience a bit of nausea and dislikes strong scents.

According to Pauleen, Vic is praying that their first baby will be a boy, but she’s okay with any gender as long as the baby is healthy. Whatever the sex of their baby turns out to be, it’s arguably the best gift for Vic who recently celebrated his birthday on April 28.
