After a month of anticipation, "Pokémon Go," the hottest augmented reality (AR) game at the moment is finally available in the Philippines on both Android and iOS.
The official "Pokémon Go" Facebook page made the announcement on Saturday, August 6, and players across 15 countries in Asia and Oceania can now begin their adventures as Pokemon trainers. In the Philippines, Smart announced that it will give away seven days of free data access to play the game for both iOS and Android users.
The game was first released in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, and Japan. As of July 25, TechCrunch estimated Pokémon Go had already logged at least 75 million downloads worldwide, including Android users.
Here are the supported devices and connection required:
For Android
- Android 4.4 to Android 6.0.1 
(Android N will not be supported until the official Android release)
- Preferred resolution of 720x1280 pixels (Not optimized for tablet)
- Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
- GPS and Location Services
For iOS
- iPhone 5+
- iOS 8+
- Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
- GPS and Location Services
- Jailbroken devices are not supported
