Celeb Parents Celebrate Moving Up Day and the Graduating Class of 2018

Every March of the year, Filipino parents all over the country revel and beam with pride as their children move up from preschool, enter high school, or prepare for university. It is as much of a milestone for parents who do everything to make sure their kids get a good education. And celebrity parents are no different when it comes to showing off what their children have achieved.

Iwa Moto and Pampi Lacson's daughter's Mimi just finished nursery, but she is already displaying leadership potential at a young age. "So proud of our little princess! Born leader," wrote Iwa on Instagram. "Congrats Mimay," her dad wrote as a caption for the video.

Aiko Melendez and daughter Martina

The single mom just celebrated her youngest's graduation from grade school with a message of thanks to her school and encouragement to aim for her dreams. "Congratulations to you my mini-me @jickainmarthena," Aiko wrote on Instagram. "As you enter grade 7 they’ll be a lot of challenges but pls know with all those, I am here for you All the way! Love you so much."

Martina's batchmate at Saint Pedro de Poveda College is Gabbi who got lots of love from her parents. Bernadette couldn't resist sharing Gabbi's certificates as an outstanding student. "Congratulations to our dearest Gabbi! We are all very proud of you. I love you so much!" mom Bernadette wrote as a caption for a photo before they went to her daughters' graduation rites.

Before the controversial quotes she posted on her Instagram, Sabina's Grade 8 moving-up day last February was almost perfect. Mom Claudine Barretto and estranged husband Raymart Santiago were both present to support her. "How I wish I can hold on to you a little bit more before you won't need us that much," the mom of two said. "Thank you for being an amazing daughter, a straight-A student, a loving daughter, sister, etc. Whatever you want to be, whatever your plans are, know that we are all behind you," Claudine wrote. 

Cherry Pie Picache and son Antonio Tria

Cherry Pie's son with cinematographer Gary Tria, Antonio, graduated junior high school from the Ateneo De Manila Univerisity. The award-winning actress wrote on Instagram, "It was no easy feat, and you succeeded through your commitment, passion and hard work." In another post, she wrote, "You are a blessing my love. Continue on being grateful for your gifts by making full use of them, being a man for others and loving above all our God who is the source of all these."

Jericho Rosales and son Santino 

Kai Palomares whose son with Jericho, Santino, just finished 12th grade thanked Jericho and his wife Kim Jones for "making our son's family whole in the best modern way." Kim replied in the comments, "Love you guys," which prompted the members of this family to express their love and thanks for each other (see below). Jericho even told Kai, "You raised a great kid. Mabuhay ka." On Jericho's Instagram, his post had a simple "Dad's very proud" caption but with a crying emoji, among others.

Sunshine Cruz and daughters Angelina and Chesca

Sunshine's youngest daughter Chesca graduated Grade 6, while her eldest, Angelina, is moving up to senior high. Angelina was one of the candidates for exemplary conduct award, while Chesca is the second honoree in her class. 

Sunshine also thanked boyfriend Macky Mathay for attending her daughters' graduation and moving-up ceremonies, which two consecutive days. Macky also posted on social media his message: "I know that your mom is really REALLY proud of you and please know that I am so proud of you too!" he wrote. 

Senator Manny Pacquiao, Jinkee, and kids Michael and Princess

"Congratulations my dear Princess and Michael. Oh, how time flies fast!" Jinkee wrote as a caption for a photo of her graduates. "Thank you Lord for everything!" she added. The senator also posted on his Instagram with the caption, "Congrats to my son Michael and my daughter Princess. So proud of you both!"

Alma Concepcion and son Cobe

The former beauty queen was happy for son Cobe, graduating high school at Ateneo de Manila University. "Congrats @cobebeh! Welcome to college!" Alma wrote. Cobe is Alma's son with former partner, Dody Puno. "Goodbye Ateneo! Thank you for helping me mold my one & only @cobebeh," the single mom wrote in another post.
