“As a first-time mom, minsan nakaka-frustrate yung wala ka pang maibigay na gatas, kahit gusto mo magpa-breastfeeding kay Baby Night,” Ryza wrote on Instagram as a caption for a photo of a feeding bottle.

Thanks to her friend and fellow GMA artist, host and comedienne Chariz Solomon, Ryza didn’t have to resort to supplementing with formula milk.

“Buti nalang andyan si @chariz_solomon para matulungan ako sa breast milk. Super thank you missy!!!” the first-time mama wrote.

Colostrum, or the first breast milk, is produced by a woman’s body during pregnancy, and it is expressed through the breast as soon as the placenta detaches from the uterine wall. It’s not watery, but it is often thick droplets. (Read more about colostrum here.)

Chariz was able to provide Ryza breast milk since she also gave birth to her third son, Andreas, on October 1, 2020. She has been breastfeeding her newborn and have been building up her milk supply as well, thanks to collecting letdowns as she nurses her son.

While Chariz's abundant supply has its own challenges, it also paved the way for her to donate vast amounts of liquid gold to moms and newborns who need it, like Ryza and Baby Night. She had donated two batches of breast milk before her son reached one month old.
