Shamcey Supsup Admits Ate Nyke Feels A Bit Jealous of Her Baby BrotherThe beauty queen/businesswoman says having another baby brought the family a different kind of happiness; the only downside is ensuring she gives her kids equal attention.by Rachel Perez .
Having more than one child entails attending to your baby's needs while also caring for a curious toddler and more. For Shamcey Supsup-Lee, journeying through motherhood is easier the second time around.
"Ewan ko ha, but for me, I felt that the second baby was easier? The birth, taking care of the baby, kasi nga, yung first kasi medyo you don't know what to expect, e," she said in an interview with Pep.ph at the Panasonic Fashion Festival last April 4.
The Miss Universe 2011 Third Runner Up gave birth the second time via vaginal birth, making postnatal recovery more manageable while taking care of her newborn. Shamcey added that having had previous experience of taking care of daughter Nyke, 3, she's less paranoid now about caring for son Peter Nathan, who is 6 months-old.
The beauty queen admitted that she always thought she'd only have one child. "I never thought I'd be able to really, like, add more happiness in my life," she said. "I have two now. It's all worth it," she shared. "When the new baby came, talagang iba yung saya din sa family," Shamcey added.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
As a mom of two, the most challenging task for her is making sure she gives her children equal attention. "Siguro the hardest part lang of adding a new member of the family, siyempre yung may konting selos dun sa first baby," Shamcey revealed.CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended VideosADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
"Kapag kasama ko silang dalawa, I give more attention to my eldest kasi siyempre siya pa yung nakakaalala, e," the mom of two said on how she's helping Nyke overcome jealousy. "Kumbaga, yung baby hindi pa naman nakaka-feel ng selos. Pag may bonding kami with baby, sinasama ko [si Nyke] parati para ma-feel na she's part of it," Shamcey said.
Feeling a bit jealous sometimes doesn't' mean there is no love between the Lee siblings. In fact, Nyke likes being a big sister to Nathan. "She likes to take care of the baby, so yun naman yung masaya," she said of having two kids. Shamcey added that being a big sister also teaches her daughter about responsibility.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
If motherhood was smoother for her the second time around and she's able to deal with sibling jealousy, is having a third baby part of her and husband Lloyd Lee's future plans? "For now, huwag muna," the mom of two said, adding that she feels no pressure as they now have a boy and a girl. "We're not saying no, pero for now, we're happy as is," she added.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
