Most parents are proud of their children’s achievements, no matter how big or small it may be, and no matter how young or old their children are. Celebrities are certainly not an exemption — just look at Sharon Cuneta, who was visibly delighted with her youngest daughter Miel’s achievements that she couldn’t help but share it on her social media accounts yesterday, May 27, 2019.
Miel Pangilinan, 14, received two medals, one for English and another for Filipino, at her school’s Subject Excellence Awards. The moment her daughter’s name was called, Sharon screamed, “That’s my girl!”
“What a wonderful way to start the day!” Sharon wrote as a caption to a video where her daughter was awarded her medal for excellence in English. “Congrats to our baby girl, my Bunny, and Piyowww, Mielly! Two medals!!! Woohoo!!! #proudmama”
Sharon also uploaded another video where Miel was awarded a medal for excellence in Filipino, plus some photos with her daughter, and husband Sen. Kiko Pangilinan.
"Our Mielly! Subject Excellence Medals in English and Filipino!!! #proudmama" the Megastar wrote.
“We are so very proud of you, our dearest Yellie!!! Thank you for the happiness you have given us! I love you more than words can ever say!!!" the mom said in another post.
In the photos, Miel also looked overjoyed with her parents' reactions. It's no secret that she and her mom share a deep bond together with her other siblings. After all, she considers Sharon as an inspiration and her best friend.
"Thank you for always being there for me and for being supportive of me. You always tell me the difference of wrong from right and always inspire me to constantly improve myself and to always persevere, no matter how much I feel like giving up," Miel wrote in her letter for Sharon on the Megastar's birthday last January 2019.
"You are my role model, my inspiration, my teacher, and my best friend. I am so blessed to have you as a mom and to have you with me in my life to help me and stay by my side through the ups and downs," she said.
Of course, Sen. Kiko was also thrilled with his daughter’s achievements. But, like any cool dad, he had to insert a little humor in his message for Miel.
“Excellence awards in English and Filipino. Congratulations, Yellie! So proud of you,” he wrote on his social media accounts. “Nagbunga din ang ating araw araw na paglalaro gamit ang wikang Filipino ng bahay bahayan, carinderia carinderia, at yung Pretend Play na ikaw si Bantay ang aming alagang Tuta. Aw aw!”
It's funny and sweet. Plus, it's proof that playing with your child is the best brain-building gift you can give her.
Congrats, Miel!
