In the spirit of Christmas, Smartparenting.com.ph’s mommy forum members decided to celebrate the holidays by promoting a cause last Dec. 12, 2009. This year, SP moms organized a Christmas party that would not just bring them together, but would extend a helping hand to those in need.

CRIBS (Create Responsive Infants By Sharing), a child-caring agency licensed by the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) was chosen because of its various programs which aim to provide health care, nutrition, foster care, therapy, counseling and educational aid for infants and sexually-abused female survivors.

SP moms pooled together their resources and donated much-needed medicines, diapers, toiletries, toys, school supplies and clothes for the babies and children under the care of CRIBS. Not only did they share in kind, they were able to raise enough funds to give a cash donation to CRIBS.

A fun program full of hilarious games and heartwarming performances provided an opportunity for the SP moms to give their time to the NB (New Beginnings) girls of CRIBS, to bond with each other, share laughter (and photo ops with the Jollibee mascot), and witness the talents of the NB girls.

As a token of their appreciation, the NB girls presented a Christmas card with a touching message of thanks to the SP moms (See below).

The SP moms, blessed with their wonderful families, felt that they needed to go beyond their own joy and gave not only donations but their time and presence to the NB girls. It was a warm, meaningful and lovely Christmas Party for everyone.
