SSS Launches the MySSS Card That Doubles as a Debit Card
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to get one.

Managing family expenses can be challenging, but the Social Security System (SSS) is introducing a solution that can help. The new MySSS Card replaces the old UMID card and serves two purposes. It is your official SSS ID and debit card that make accessing benefits simpler and faster.
What makes it different?
The card is linked to a savings account with an SSS partner bank. The first rollout is with RCBC DiskarTech, and additional banks, such as AUB, China Bank, and UnionBank, will join soon. Once you have the MySSS Card, it automatically becomes your main disbursement account. That means pensions, loans, and benefits are deposited directly into your card account without requiring re-registration.
The MySSS Card is also equipped with an EMV chip and tied to the National ID system through eVerify and biometric authentication. This ensures secure transactions and helps prevent fraud.
What can you do with it?
Beyond SSS benefits, the card works like a regular debit card. You can use it for ATM withdrawals, shopping, online payments, and even public transport fares. You can also use it for QR payments, and future updates may include loan applications processed directly through the card.

How to Apply for the MySSS Card
Before applying, make sure you meet the requirements:
You must have a permanent SSS number.
Your My.SSS Portal account should be active and updated with your current address, mobile number, and email.
You must be registered under the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) National ID system (PhilSys).
If you already have an old SSS, UMID, or other SSS-issued ID, you may apply for the MySSS Card to replace it.
Step 1: Log in to your My.SSS account and click on “MySSS Card” under Services.
Step 2: Review your personal details and give consent for SSS to verify your information with the National ID system.
Step 3: Choose your partner bank. At launch, RCBC is the first option, but more banks will follow.
Step 4: Complete online verification, including identity confirmation through PhilSys eVerify.
Step 5: Open a bank account with your chosen partner bank. For RCBC, this means downloading and registering through the DiskarTech app. You can also open an account at a branch if needed.
Once verified, your card will be processed and delivered. Members in Metro Manila can expect theirs within 15 working days, while those outside will receive theirs within 20 days.
Who can apply?
The MySSS Card is available to all SSS members, pensioners, individual claimants, beneficiaries, and representative payees with updated records. You need a permanent SS number, an active My.SSS account, and a valid National ID that matches your SSS details.
For parents balancing bills, school fees, and everyday expenses, the MySSS Card can be a helpful upgrade. It merges your Social Security benefits with digital banking, allowing you to manage your household finances in one place. It also reduces waiting time for benefits, providing families with easier access to funds when they need them most.
