Sunshine Dizon on annulment: 'My fight doesn't end there."
The Kapuso actress vows that even if she has already withdrawn the cases she filed against estranged husband Timothy Tan, she will pursue the case to annul their marriage. "It’s a very difficult decision to make, napakahirap for me na ibaba ang kaso. I still have two children who need their father. And masakit for me na, bilang ina nila, hindi ko na kayang buuin ang pamilya namin," she told Pep.ph. "The only thing I can do now is, somehow, save their relationship to their father. I can say for sure, he’s doing his part for the children. Huwag nating idiskuwento sa kanya yun, he’s been really good with the kids," Sunshine added. There are other plans for other "remedies," but she couldn't discuss it yet in public. Even if her marriage is up for annulment, she says she’d rather concentrate of her kids and her work. (pep.ph)
Vicki Belo opens up about struggles of being a mom to Scarlet SnowVicki was 59 years old when she and partner Hayden Kho welcomed daughter Scarlet Snow, who's turning 2 in March, and she admits that the most challenging part about being a mom at her age is physical endurance. "As a mother then [to Quark and Cristalle, whom she had in her mid-20s with husband Atom Henares], I was so much younger, I had so much energy, so I could play with them endlessly. I still do that with Scarlet but it's all achy bones and stuff," she tells Good Housekeeping Philippines. Though Scarlet has her dad, her ate and kuya and household staff to keep up with her energy, Vicki still makes it a point to "play with and be silly with" her daughter. "I want Scarlet to see me as someone she can always run to. I want to be her forever kakampi," she says. (pep.ph)
Look: Stellar Cipriano dons Maleficent costumeADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWIt's rare to see snaps of this cute little girl on her parents' Instagram accounts -- they only debuted a photo of her in a family portrait last December, at eight months old -- but over the weekend, mom Chynna Ortaleza posted a pic of daughter Stellar wearing a Maleficent costume, complete with a headdress with horns. "Before the sun sets on her 16th birthday..." she wrote in the caption, referring to Princess Aurora's fate in Disney's Sleeping Beauty where the dark character is from. It's unclear whether the photo was taken for Halloween last October (or an advanced costume fitting for this year's Hallow's Eve). We're quite certain, though, that the new mom is having fun playing dress-up with her mini-me.
HOR committee passes bill on estate tax amnesty
The Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representative (HOR) has approved a substitute bill, entitled "An Act Granting Amnesty in Estate Tax, which seeks to impose amnesty to unpaid estate taxes for year 2016 and for prior years which have not been settled as of December 16, 2016. Estate tax refers to taxes imposed on the right of a deceased person to transfer his estate to his lawful heirs and beneficiaries at the time of death and on certain transfers. The bill seeks to increase tax collection levels by granting amnesty from paying unsettled estate taxes and promoting the settlement of estates. It could free-up properties and generate income through sale, lease, of joint ventures, which in turn could generate more tax revenues. (gmanetwork.com)
