  • Toni Gonzaga knows that spending money on properties is important to secure the family's future, but she believes using these resources to make time for family is a worthier investment.

In April, Toni and and husband Paul Soriano took their two-year-old son Seve to a short vacation outside of Metro Manila for some quality time. She captured snippets of their stay at a popular resort in her vlog.

Toni narrated that this trip was what a vacation is all about — being close to nature and seeing Seve enjoy chasing animals at the farm like chickens, peacocks, and ducks, which Toni said her son only sees in storybooks.

It was obviously an exciting time for Seve, who enjoyed some time in the bathtub, swam in the pool, sampled delicious food, and told stories with his parents.

Toni also captured an interesting conversation with Seve on video.

Toni: [pointing to her belly] This is your house before, the tummy of mommy.

    Seve: Where is Daddy’s house?

Toni: In the tummy of Glama (Grandma). That was Daddy’s old, old house when he was a ...

    Seve: Bunny!

Toni: Daddy used to be a bunny? What about Seve? Seve used to be a...

    Seve: He’s a prince!

Toni: Wow! You’re a prince? And Mommy is a...

    Seve: Queen [laughs]

Toni: And Daddy is a ...

    Seve: King!

Toni was able to squeeze in some me-time by reading a book, achieving 9 hours of sleep, and getting a full-body massage while Seve was napping.

When their vacation concluded, Toni shared some personal insights about their short trip.

Toni shared her own memories as a child taking simple vacations with her family.

“Simple lang yung mga bakasyon namin. Pero all I could remember was how happy we were as a family kasi magkakasama kaming lahat. My parents weren’t rich but they were able to afford to give us a beautiful life. And that’s what we wanna do with Seve,” she said.

Toni also expressed gratitude that she and Paul are able to let Seve experience this kind of life because they have been blessed with enough.

She stresses, however, that parents don’t have to spend a lot for a vacation because kids will enjoy an outing with the family no matter what.

“Hindi naman mahalaga kung grand o simple ang bakasyon. Ang importante, magkakasama kayo. Because that’s what he will remember.

“While it is good to be financially stable in the future and invest in properties, real estate, or businesses, but there’s nothing like investing your time and money with your family,” she added.

“Material things can give you stability, but it will never make you happy.

“We want Seve to grow up feeling secure, loved, and valued so that he doesn’t look for it outside our family.

“Kahit nakakapagod magbakasyon with a toddler, it’s worth it seeing him this happy.”
