4. Watch: new Miss Peregrine trailer
Three months to the premiere of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and the studio has just released a new trailer. We get to see and understand more of the peculiarities of the kids and how the orphanage works. Apparently, the home is in a time loop that needs resetting every 24 hours, so the kids could stay in the comforts of the home forever. We also get a better sense of Samuel L. Jackson's character, who has been hunting the peculiars for their powers. It's up to the story hero Jacob Portman, played by Asa Butterfield, to save everyone. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children opens in theaters in September. (mtv.com)
5. NASA: Earth has a new mini-moon!
You read that right, planet Earth now has two moons. NASA just discovered that Earth has had a "mini-moon" for over a century now. The mini-moon, which is actually a small asteroid named 2016 HO3, was discovered on April 27 and has been orbiting around the sun, as a constant companion of planet Earth. "Since 2016 HO3 loops around our planet, but never ventures very far away as we both go around the sun, we refer to it as a quasi-satellite of Earth," said Paul Chodas, manager of NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object (NEO) Studies. Our newly discovered mini-moon is at least 40 meters across but is no larger than 100 meters wide. Don't worry, it is in no position to collide with Earth and poses no threat.
