4. Amy Schumer play Barbie in its first live-action filmADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWThe actress is in early talks to play the iconic doll for its first ever live-action comedy movie by Sony. The film tells the story of Barbie who gets kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect enough. She arrives in the real world and is set for an adventure, as she discovers that being unique has its advantages. Amy could bring quite a different take (she's known for her raunchy-type of comedy) on the iconic character which had been portrayed in many animated movies, including a supporting role in the Toy Story movies. The movie has no title yet, but the studio is aiming for an imaginative family comedy with plenty of heart, similar to Disney’s Enchanted. The live-action Barbie movie is already slated for a 2018 release and will definitely be rated PG so the kids could watch. Barbie, the doll, brings in $3 billion annually for toy manufacturer Mattel. 5. New elements officially added to the periodic tableADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWIt's official: the names of the four new elements of the Periodic Table have been approved. The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry had officially included Nihonium (Nh), Moscovium (Mc), Tennessine (Ts) and Oganesson (Og) to complete the seventh row of the periodic table of elements. The new elements are numbered as elements 113, 115, 117 and 118, respectively. News of the new elements were reported back in September 2015, after which the discoverers had been invited to propose names, and the IUPAC had even asked the public for name suggestions for the new elements. However, traditional naming patterns won, which led to these new elements being named after place, geographical region, or scientists. (qz.com)
