After Baby Zia's debut on television as part of 2 Degrees: Panahon Na, a documentary about the environment and climate change, a post-baby photo of her mom, Kapuso primetime queen Marian Rivera who was also featured in the film, was posted by road manager Paolo Luciano. The photo shows Marian Rivera wearing a white button-down dress and talking to husband Dingdong Dantes, who produced the film. She looks happy and blooming as ever. YesPinoy, an advocacy group founded by Dantes, also posted a photo with the new parents to announce the start of its partnership with C.O.R.E., the advocacy arm of Primer Group of Companies. The Hollywood power couple have finally announced the baby's name two days after his birth. The new Kardashian-West baby is Saint West. This was announced via Kim Kardashian's website and app: "To our fans, Saint West, 12.05.15. 8 pounds, 1 ounce." She had always said it wouldn't be South, or that Kanye would like the name Easton that she said she liked. Reports also explain the idea behind the moniker; it alludes that the baby is a blessing after Kim experienced a difficult pregnancy. (people.com)
3. The Ava DuVernay Barbie Doll is on sale
The Oscar nominated director of the award-winning film Selma will be available for the public to purchase just in time for the holidays. Ava DuVernay revealed that Barbie-doll makers Mattel Toys had decided to produce the dolls featuring her likeness after a campaign on Twitter. The company originally meant to produce just one, which was to be auctioned off for charity. It's part of Barbie's Sheroes campaign, which features dolls in the likeness of five inspirational women. DuVernay also said that all the proceeds from the sale of her Barbie dolls will be sent to nonprofits Color of Change and Witness. (huffingtonpost.com)
4. First penis transplants in the U.S. to benefit veterans
Johns Hopkins University will soon perform the first penis transplants in the U.S. to wounded soldiers. The first of the 60 planned surgeries could happen in just a few months. "Some hope to father children. I think that is a realistic goal," Dr. W.P. Andrew Lee, the chairman of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins, said in an interview with The New York Times. A young soldier who had a horrific injury from a bomb blast in Afghanistan is the first candidate, and the organ will come from a deceased donor. Doctors are hopeful about the success of the transplant. The procedure has been successfully done in South Africa, and that patient recently became father. 5. The Artist star Jean Dujardin is a new dad (again)!
French actor Jean Dujardin, best known for his lead role in the movie The Artist, is a dad anew. The award-winning Oscar winner welcomed a daughter with Olympian ice dancer Nathalie Pechalat. The baby girl, whom they named Jeanne, weighed 6 pounds and 4 ounces. Dujardin is already a dad to two sons, Simon, 14, and Jules 13, with his ex-partner Alexandra Lamy. Congratulations! (people.com)
