4. Pope Francis will receive award for "fostering European values"
The Charlemagne prize, a prominent annual German award for promoting European values will be award to Pope Francics. He will receive the medal at a ceremony in Rome, next year on a still undisclosed date. The organizers cite the Pope's moral leadership during Europe's biggest refugee crisis since World War II. "At a time which many citizens of Europe are looking for orientation, Pope Francis sends a message of hope and encouragement," their statement said. It also adds that the Pope stands for "peace and understanding, for mercy, tolerances, solidarity and the conservation of creation." Previous winners of the award include German Chancellor Angela Merkel and former French president Francois Mitterrand. (gmanetwork.com)

Kim Kardashian was the first one to debut the card on her website and app. It shows Kim's daughter North, 3, with Kourtney Kardashians' kids Mason, 6, Penelope, 3, and Reign, 1. The newest Kardashian kid, Kim's son Saint, whom she gave birth to just last December 5, did not make an appearance. The message of the card? "All you need is love." 3. Outstanding Fil-Am students receive Rizal awards
Thirteen Fil-Am students were recently awarded the Dr. Jose Rizal Youth Awards for their academic excellence and community service by the Philippine Embassy and the Philippine American Foundation for Charities (PAFC). Col. Shirley S. Raguindin, chief diversity officer at the U.S. Air National Guard Bureau, said in her keynote speech during the awarding ceremony held last week, “You are the future’s emerging leaders. The former "Rosswell" actress and now staring in Lifetime TV's hit show "UnREAL" has welcomed her second child, a son, last week with fiance restaurateur Jon Shook.
