Two young children have been discovered dead inside a car in Angeles City, Pampanga. According to news reports, the children, cousins aged 2 and 3, were found lifeless by personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) who responded to the distress call received past 2 p.m. Initial reports and CCTV footage indicate the children playing near the parked vehicle, which was used for a ride-hailing service, before they entered through the passenger side.
As of March 25, 2024, the official examination concluded that suffocation was the cause of death. However, it has sparked controversy and disbelief among the grieving family.
One of the victim’s mother, Steffany Villegas, said, “Yung anak ko, yung dugo niya sa kamay, sa damit tapos maraming pasa.”
The driver and owner of the vehicle, Fermhan Pamintuan extended his apologies to the families, stating, “Nanghihingi po ako ng sorry, ng dispensa. Hindi ko po kayang gawin na pumatay ang isang tao din. Kung ano po kapupuntahan ng nangyaring ito, haharap po ako.”
“Wala naman pong may kagustuhan na mangyari yung ganon. Saka sa ibang mga magulang, linangin po nila yung mga anak nila,” his father, Norman, added.
