Netizens Up In Arms Over CCTV That Allegedly Shows Yaya Abducting 5-Month-Old Alaga

UPDATE: Baby Taylor has been found and was given back to her parents today, November 14, 2019, with the help of radio show "Wanted sa Radyo" by Radyo Singko News5. According to news reports, the yaya, Kristin Joy Salik, has also apologized to mom Princess Jean Perrin, but Perrin will still file a kidnapping case against Salik to teach her a lesson.

It's every parent's nightmare come true — a video of a yaya caught on cam allegedly abducting her 5-month-old alaga went viral on social media last night with a distraught mother pleading for netizens to help her find her baby.

According to ABS-CBN News, the mom, Princess Jean Perrin, was asleep when the incident happened. She and her partner worked the night shift, so the yaya was tasked to look after their daughter, Taylor. When they woke up, the child and the yaya were gone.

A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera in Barangay Bambang, Taguig City showed the yaya leaving the house while carrying the infant. She walked up to the main road before rounding a corner and disappearing from view.

In an interview with ABS-CBN reporter Anjo Bagaoisan, Perrin shares that the yaya, who introduced herself as Kristin Joy Salik, was a new hire and had only been with them for a week. Salik contacted them after Perrin posted on social media that she was looking for a new yaya for her daughter.

The police says Salik could be using a fake name, as she could not be identified by residents when police went to the address she provided in her Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) ID and barangay clearance. It is also possible that she submitted falsified documents to her employer. 

No update has been reported about the police investigation as of this writing.

In her interview with morning news show Umagang Kay Ganda, Perrin was teary-eyed while pleading for Salik to bring her baby back. “May anak ka din, sinabi mo may apat kang anak. Sana ibalik mo sa akin ang anak ko, maawa ka. Maawa ka rin sa pamilya mo, madadamay rin sila.”

Police Col. Alexander Santos, chief of the Taguig City police, reminded parents to be more vigilant in screening their yayas to ensure they can be trusted.
