With all the vacation options out there, it can be dizzying trying to find the perfect spot for our next escape. But what if there was a peaceful location that’s not too far from Manila and features stunning interiors, too?
Ybonita Farm and Villas has a charming history. That’s because it was named after one of the owners of the property, Mary Yvonne “Ybonita” Mangrobang Caunan.
“I’m Ybonita,” she tells the OG team. “When I was a little girl, my dad used to call me ‘My Bonita’, meaning ‘pretty girl’. And then I was named Yvonne after that French actress so parang sakto. Yvonne and then Bonita, so ginawa nilang Ybonita.”

The property was just supposed to be a farm, a retirement paradise for Yvonne and her husband. After many years of being employees, they decided to buy the 2.3-hectare lot from her grandfather. But when family and friends started coming over, they realized it was not big enough to accommodate everyone. That’s when their daughter Olivia thought of making the space available for rent on Airbnb back in 2017. This marked the birth of Ybonita Farm and Villas.
Today, guests can choose from four beautiful villas on the lush farm lot: the Coconino Villa, the Ypugo Villa, the Caceres Villa, and the Yvatan Villa, all with TVs, a bar fridge, and a two-way radio to contact the farm staff.
The Coconino Villa—also called the Honeymoon Villa—is perfect for couples with its cozy size, privacy curtains, and two-access bathroom. As the name may suggest, it features elements made of coconut, such as the coconut husks creatively used as wall accents.

The Ypugo Villa, meanwhile, is slightly larger and features brick walls and wooden elements. A two-floor Ifugao-inspired villa, it has its own outdoor lanai, complete with a curtained day bed for lounging while you take in the lush scenery.
The Caceres Villa is a Spanish-inspired offering, best for small families with little kids. Capiz windows and salakots functioning as wall décor definitely add to the Spanish vibe.

Lastly, the Batanes-inspired Yvatan Villa can accommodate six up to 12 people, perfect for big families with mixed age groups. A living area greets guests where they can sample the Ybonita Farm’s kapeng barako and signature tablea. On the first floor are two queen-size beds and on the second floor are three queen-size beds and and two single beds. This villa also has its own lanai and the Princess Balcony, where you can get the farm’s best view of the sunset.

The perfect retirement life
“I feel so blessed kasi nandito ako sa gusto kong lugar in my hometown, nandito ako sa lugar na gustong-gustong palaguin ng husband ko,” Yvonne shares. “Gustong-gusto ko ‘to kasi sa retirement age ko, may kinikita pa ako. Hindi ako aasa sa anak ko, ‘di ba?”
The Coconino costs P5,500 a night, the Ypugo Villa P7,000 a night, and the Caceres Villa P6,000 a night. The Yvatan Villa has an overnight rate of P18,700 a night with breakfast for 12 people, and a three-day, two-night stay rate for P15,000 a night.
