Here’s another exciting addition to your family bucket list, parents! Southeast Asia will have its first ever Disney Cruise Ship.
Disney Cruise in Singapore
In March 2023, the Disney Cruise Line, in collaboration with the Singapore Tourism Board, announced the introduction of a brand-new Disney cruise ship to Singapore. Named the Disney Adventure, this vessel will be based exclusively in Singapore for at least five years starting in 2025.
The Disney Adventure will offer families innovative Disney experiences, including dazzling entertainment shows, world-class dining, and the legendary guest service for which the Disney Cruise Line is renowned. Guests of all ages will enjoy dedicated spaces and activities tailored for them, and families will have the opportunity to create cherished memories with beloved characters such as Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses, Marvel Super Heroes, and more.
"Disney Adventure is the seventh ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and work is currently underway in Germany. It’ll be the first Disney ship to sail from Singapore and throughout Southeast Asia and feature the Disney service, storytelling, and entertainment everyone knows and loves," said Thomas Mazloum, President of Disney Signature Experiences, in a press statement.
The Disney Adventure has an estimated 6,000 passenger capacity with around 2,300 crew members. The 208,000-gross-ton ship is also expected to be the first in the cruise industry to be fueled by green methanol, one of the lowest emission fuels available.
“[The] Disney Cruise Line is currently undergoing an ambitious expansion with new ships and new destinations around the world. We are incredibly excited to make Singapore the home port to our seventh-launched ship, which will sail from here year-round starting in 2025,” Disney parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro said in a statement.
Keith Tan, Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), said, “We look forward to welcoming the magic of Disney Cruise Line to Singapore in 2025. This is an important milestone for STB and reflects Disney Cruise Line’s strong confidence in Singapore and Southeast Asia. The new Disney cruise ship will be an attraction itself and is expected to boost the tourism sector in Singapore for many years to come.”
The Disney Cruise Line has five ships in its fleet: Disney Magic with an AquaDunk waterslide, Disney Wonder with Frozen: A Musical Spectacular, Disney Dream with a Millennium Falcon-themed play space, Disney Fantasy with a Star Wars-themed play area, and Disney Wish with themed dining and activity spaces. Destinations include Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, Bahamas, and Europe.
