Tourists planning to visit Zambales no longer need to register with the province's travel management system, the local tourism office said, easing restrictions in time for the expected rise in beach trips.

Effective March 20, travelers visiting Zambales no longer need to present a QR code from the Zambales Visitor Information and Travel Assistance (VisITA) System.
"The system will suspend its Travel Management function to undergo development for post-pandemic use," the Zambales tourism office said.
Tourists are encouraged to prioritize booking accommodations with establishments accredited by the Department of Tourism, and to bring their COVID-19 vaccination cards when going to Zambales.

Zambales is under COVID-19 Alert Level 1 until March 31 which means all businesses are allowed to operate at 100% capacity.
