It's a myth to say that only first-time moms experience nesting. All expecting moms devote time, energy, and funds to prepare for their baby's arrival. Even the pandemic will not stop them.
Preggo moms in our Smart Parenting Village Facebook group shared what they've bought so far in preparation for their newborns. The photos that emerged are proof that nesting is real.
Then pregnant with her third baby, Angela Jane Lagiwid admitted to spending about Php15,000 for newborn clothes and some baby essentials, including courier fees to ship the items to her house. Her husband, who is a seafarer, approves.
"Dahil na din sa pandemic, nag-plan kami ni hubby na through online na lang mag-order para mas safe dahil hindi ko na kailangan lumabas," Angela told Smartparenting.com.ph via Facebook Messenger. She was 36 weeks at that time.
Being on her third pregnancy, Angela already knows what to buy, so it's not exactly hoarding. "Actually mas madami po nung second pregnancy ko," she quipped. "Ngayon po kasi nilista ko na lang yung mga talagang kailangan," she shares. (Click here for a list of everything your baby will need for the first three months)

After canvassing from many online shops and checking the list that the lying-in center provided, Angela bought almost all the baby essentials from BabySM Shop. She got all newborn clothes from Balidosa Infant & Kidswear General Merchandise. The crib is from online store Coco Amethyst, and then a diaper bag and newborn diapers are from Puregold.
On June 15, Angela gave birth to a healthy baby boy, and she swears that everything she bought was "gamit na gamit." When her baby outgrows them, she'll give these pre-loved items to those who need them.
