When your baby tires out after playing all morning, it’s best to wind him down and prep him for a nap. “Afternoon naps give his mind a chance to process all the things he has learned during the day, thus helping him learn more when he wakes up,” Dr. Padua-Bautista explains. “It likewise helps lessen your baby’s stress.” Set the mood for a restful slumber by playing soothing music and laying him on his crib. Place his busy toys aside and leave only a pillow or two.
