Barista, Family Yoga, Productivity Habits And More: 2022 Summer Classes For Both Kids And Parents
  • Summer is upon us, and we know moms and dads are busy checking out exciting activities that kids can join to make their school break a tad more meaningful and worthwhile this year. 

    While Covid-19 restrictions have eased, we are not exactly out of the pandemic. The good news is, some summer programs are taught online, including sports but most offer a hybrid of face-to-face and online. 

    Smart Parenting gathered a list of summer activities that involve a lot of movement and even mom or dad’s participation, adding family value to the program. Check out this list that is sure to keep kids and the entire family occupied for the summer.

    Rhythmic Gymnastics (face to face and online)


    Recreational Rhythmic Class (Face to Face)

    Age: 3-15 years old

    Schedule: 1 month x 4 Saturdays 

    Time: 10am to 12pm


    Branches: Malabon and Quezon City

    Fee: Php2,500

    Recreational Rhythmic Class (Online)

    Age: 4-15 years old

    Schedule 1: 1 month x 4 Saturdays 

    Fee: Php900

    Schedule 2: 1 month x 8 sessions 


    Recreational Rhythmics Class is focused on fun and learning, with the eventual goal of performing group or individual routines. This program is designed to develop fundamental body movements, basic coordination, concentration, rhythm, and team skills. 

    Sessions come with a free arts class. The program is offered by Sibol Rhythmic Gymnastics, a sports club founded out of passion by International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) brevet judge of rhythmic gymnastics, Eliza Marie Corpuz.     Radha Yoga PH introduces Family Yoga with the purpose of bringing family members across all ages in an activity where mindfulness, breathe awareness, and movement is observed. 

    During the session, everyone drops all other commitments and stays focused on the activities on the mat. This will be complemented with an art activity where each family member takes part to complete the details of a given object.

    Age: 6 and up (parent-kid tandem is considered as 1 participant)

    Schedule: May 10-12

    Time: 1-4 PM

    Fresh Noodle Making

    Age: 13 and up 

    Schedule: To be arranged

    Fee: Php3,500

    Barista Mix

    Age: 13 and up

    Schedule: May 3-5

    Time: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

    Cake Making

    Age: 13 and up

    Schedule: May 24-26

    Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

    The Miriam College-Skills Development and Technical Education Center (MC-SDTEC) offers these short courses for continuing education and to meet the needs and interests of the diverse public. Each course is open to anyone who wishes to learn new skills and engage in productive ventures in the future.

    Music (online)


    One-on-one Piano, Guitar, Drums, Violin, and Voice Lessons

    The Miriam College Music Center offers one-on-one music lessons in different instruments and voice. It prides itself in having a roster of seasoned faculty who are among the best in their teaching fields.

    Beginner/Intermediate Badminton (Face to face and online)

    Schedules by batch: April 25-May 18; May 23- June 15; June 20- -July 13

    Age: 4-5 years old and 6 and above


    Schedule: Will accommodate 7 batches from May 3 to August 9

    Time: 8:15 – 9:15; 9:30 – 10:30 am;1:00 – 2:00 pm

    These are just two of a wide range of the 2022 summer programs offered by the College of San Agustin (CSA). Specifically, their Badminton and Swimming programs are led by two of the country’s renowned Olympians Weena Lim (badminton) and Akiko Thomson (swimming). 

    They also offer basketball, gymnastics, taekwondo, and volleyball, among other sports. Their art offering include Performing, Visual, and Literary Arts.

    The Learning Library offers these plus many more summer classes you can view on its site. It has been teaching kids since 2005, offering reading and writing programs in English and Filipino.
