Are you a parent of a Ninja Kid? If your little one has been talking about Ninja Kidz TV nonstop and you’re wondering who these ninjas might be, you’ve come to the right place!
Who Are The Ninja Kidz?
The Ninja Kidz are composed of siblings Bryton, Ashton, Paxton, Payton, and Kayson. Together with their Mom and Dad, they make up the Ninja Fam. Their YouTube channel has 23.1 million followers as of this writing. It has 8 seasons and started in 2017.
Bryton is the eldest, currently around 20 years old. He has moved out of the Ninja House, is engaged, and lives his own life outside of the Ninja Kidz. However, he spent many years with them, and many of the videos you can find online still include him.
Ashton is now 18 and the oldest Ninja Kid, and Payton and Paxton are twins who are 16. They also have an adopted little brother, Kayson, who is 10. The Ninja Kidz started with “Power Ranger Ninja Kidz” videos on YouTube, in which they performed flips and stunts, showcasing their athletic skills and prowess.
Thanks to their Dad’s deep love for martial arts, all the children were raised in a martial arts studio, and eventually, all of them achieved multidiscipline black belts. In addition to being competitive gymnasts and parkour athletes, all of the Ninja Kidz are also active. Because the family is big on being active, most of the Ninja Kidz content is filled with stunts, challenges, and anything that involves physical activity.

However, every video they upload has a disclaimer that all of their stunts and activities are not only done by actual competitive athletes (the Ninja Kidz themselves) but are also closely monitored by professional adults and that the activities shown on screen must NOT be attempted by their audiences at home.
What can my kids learn from the Ninja Kidz?
When you first look at the Ninja Kidz channel, you’ll notice that the Kidz have a lot of content on challenges, competitions, visiting parks, and other outdoor places where they can have fun, do some pranks, and go on adventures. So what life lessons can your kids learn from them?
Being Brave and Conquering Fears
Ninja Kidz TV puts out a lot of videos with the words "conquering fears" in their title. It’s usually when they do big, but still kid-safe challenges like riding a shark water slide (they don’t actually have direct contact with the sharks) and learning to do a backflip.
There was also a video of them teaching their Mom to do a backflip, sending out a message that being brave and trying new things is for everyone and is not limited by age or physical capacity and that conquering fears can be done in small ways.
Love for Adventure and Trying New Things
The Ninja Kidz always try out new challenges and take their adventure to new heights. The Kidz go treasure hunting, swim with dolphins and sharks, explore historical sites, go ziplining, and of course, go to parks that have specific physical activities for kids.
Content like this will encourage your kids to also go and explore the great outdoors and look for adventure around them. They might ask you to take them on similar adventures that will bring them closer to nature or invite their friends over to play games and have challenges with each other.
Interest in Gymnastics and Sports
The Ninja Kidz have black belts in multi-disciplines, are parkour athletes, and are competitive gymnasts, so if your kids watch their content enough, they might be enticed to try out the same exciting sports or to find one for themselves!
Confidence and Social Skills
Another life skill that your kid can learn from Ninja Kidz TV is building confidence. The Ninja Kidz are big on facing their fears and pursuing excellence as athletes, and these factors help in teaching children to put themselves out there and to not be afraid of anything.
Additionally, the children are constantly interacting with other kids on camera for their challenges and competitions, encouraging your little ones to have fun with their own social circle or to build one for themselves. The songs and music videos that their channel uploads also focus a lot on these themes of confidence and friendship.
Eschewing Gender Stereotypes
Payton, the only girl in the Ninja family, isn't spoiled and overprotected "like a princess" or like the typical unica hijas we have in the Filipino families. Maybe it’s the difference in our culture compared to theirs, or perhaps it’s due to the entire family being big on sports and athletics.
In their videos, no matter if they are doing physical activities and challenging one another or just going for a fun adventure, Payton is always doing the same things her brothers do. She’s not asked to skip certain activities to protect her female body, nor is she chastised for behaving the same way or saying the same things as her brothers.
But despite all this, Payton remains feminine in her gender expression. She wears a lot of pink, loves dolphins and puppies, and enjoys pretty dresses and being kikay. I personally adore that Payton’s entire persona sends a message to young girls that they can be anything, free of dichotomies and cookie-cutter definitions of what it means to be a girl.
The Ninja Kidz Brand Criticism for Ninja Kidz TV
Ninja Kidz TV isn’t perfect, and here are a couple of things you might want to watch out for:
Sibling competition
Yes, the show is all about physical challenges and always pushing yourself to be better, but it sort of bothered me that the siblings were always being pitted against each other. Healthy competition is good for every child, but it does seem unfair if the siblings who are from different age groups with different body types are competing in the same challenges (with the younger siblings mostly losing).
Unrealistic portrayal of life
All the Ninja Kidz are homeschooled and their family is quite well off, so they have a lot of time and resources to do their activities and travel all the time for content creation. The amount and quality of content they upload would be impossible to do if YouTube and the Ninja Kidz business weren’t the main thing in all of their lives.
It also shows only the fun and extreme side of being a kid, always playing outdoors and doing sports, hardly doing any studying, reading, or sitting down and talking with their peers. All of these could give your children an unrealistic and unbalanced portrayal of real life.
Final Words
In the end, it’s all about balance. Ninja Kidz TV, like any other program, has its pros and cons. Their content is fun and will get your kids excited and wanting to go out and jump on a trampoline, but it's also important to complement it with other wholesome content or other non-screen activities like reading or actually going outside to play.
We hope this article has helped give you a glimpse of what the addicting channel is like!
