How to Read Aloud to Your Kids: May Higante sa Aming Bahay

How do you face your fear? How do kids face theirs?

In the short story May Higante sa Aming Bahay, written by Rhandee Garlitos and illustrated by Ferdinand Guevara, little Matt-Matt vividly describes his fears as he finds himself dreading the arrival of their house visitor — a towering giant with a booming laughter, who comes from a faraway land. He imagines he would lock him up or eat him alive once he sees an opportunity.  

However, as he gets to know the stranger his Nanay and Kuya Utoy and ate Linggit cheerfully welcomed into their home, Matt-Matt realizes he was wrong about their visitor. His fears were unfounded, after all.
