  • Motherhood has good days and bad days, and the hope is that there are more good days than bad. But when gray clouds do come, even a little bit of sunshine helps.

UK-based Anna Lewis is a children's book illustrator. When she's not busy making artwork for authors, she sketches about her everyday life as a mom to her little girl. She draws funny moments, like how a few minutes on the toilet can feel like a spa break, etc., but it's the heartfelt ones that can really pick fellow moms up on a bad day.

“I knew I was going to be a stay-at-home mum for a while when my daughter was small, so I started doing some little sketches of our daily life together just to keep my creativity up,” she told Huffington Post. “I find it quite natural to draw about motherhood as your heart is suddenly so open and everything just pours out.” Anna shares her artwork on Instagram and Facebook as @SketchyMuma

Her little girl is now 4 years old and the mom has learned quite a bit on her motherhood journey. Asked by Honest Mum on what advice she would give her pre-kids self, she answered, “That I had much more strength in me than I realised.”

Remember this, mom: that even on the bad days, you are a strong woman. Here are a few of Lewis’ artworks in case you need a pick-me-up:
