Organic Nappy Chic with Charisse Almonte-Yap’s The Diaper Store
Mom Cha Yap’s imported yet affordable diapers and natural organic products will make moms and their babies very happy!by Angel Constantino .
The Mompreneur: Charisse Almonte-Yap (mom to Bianca Marie, 2 years and 10 months, and Sophia Noelle, who is due in August)
Her Business: The Diaper Store
Why She Loves Being a Mom: I love the fact that I get to mold and shape an individual, and that I get unconditional love from my child.
The Idea: I have always been interested in things for and about babies. Having an online store is ideal for me for three reasons: Start-up capital is virtually zero because I only spend cash on my inventory (great for first timers like me), I don’t have to maintain a pwesto that requires rent and staffing, and my stocks are non-perishables so they’re easier to manage. I chose the name The Diaper Store because it’s easy to remember and instantly relates my brand with the products I’m selling.
What Makes it Unique: The Diaper Store is accessible to the working mother since we are based in Makati where most offices are located. My clients usually pick-up their orders after office hours thus avoiding long lines in the supermarket to buy diapers, saving them time and effort. Also, the Midori Organic Baby Products I carry are very unique and competitive in terms of price and quality.
Quality Control: I am a mom first and an entrepreneur second. With this mantra, I always make sure that what I’m selling would pass the standards I set for my own family. All the items I sell are “baby-tested and mommy-approved.” I am drawn to natural and organic products that are safe for babies and the environment.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended VideosClick here to read on about Diaper Store's bestsellers, Cha's thoughts on being a full-time mom, balancing work with family time and on giving back.
