Babyleaf by Trisha Diane Huan- Lim

Like most first-time moms, Trisha Lim wanted to get all the pretty things for her baby.  She didn’t, however, find a lot of good stuff at the mall so she went online and found a lot of things that interested her.  Thinking that other moms would probably want these items, too, she ordered a few pieces extra just in case.

In the beginning, she only accepted pre-orders and did not stock up on items. However when her fellow moms started getting so excited about the products she bought, like popular branded baby bottles, skin care items, baby gear and toys, Trisha decided to get more so she could provide her growing customer base a faster way to get their baby items. Trisha didn’t realize until then that there were so many moms like her who wanted to shop online in the comfort of their own homes.  Thus the Babyleaf business, which will be launched this year, is born.

Babyleaf is a premier online baby store that carries award-winning, quality products for babies and toddlers that are unique and hard to find.  She knows how moms want the best for their babies so she would only sell what she would like her children to have.  Her online business has given moms with discriminating taste an alternative, especially those who reside in provinces where malls and retail stores offer limited choices.  She is also the owner of The Spoiled Girl  which carries items for big kids and products for moms.
 
In addition to the products under her Babyleaf brands, Trisha has decided to develop her own line of eco-friendly diapers, onesies and other baby accessories that mommies will surely love. Interested mompreneurs can also start their own businesses by distributing Babyleaf products as well.  Some of the planned business enhancements include an express check-out facility in the website that will enable her local and international customers to shop with greater ease.  
 
For Trisha, being a mom is a beautiful and rewarding experience.  It has taught her the true meaning of unconditional love, and has given her life a purpose and meaning.  Seeing her children smile makes her realize how blessed she is.

Trisha admits that it is indeed quite a challenge to balance work and family life with her full time job and her husband Stuart’s business.  She says: "It's really a matter of finding time to do it all. I bring my kids with me to the office so I can see them and spend time with them while I work. Sundays are dedicated to family bonding.  My sister is also a big help to me in my online business.  She takes care of processing customers’ orders and makes sure they're shipped on time.”  
 
Trisha is also blessed with a very understanding and supportive husband.  Stuart knows that she loves what she does and is very supportive.  Even though their house is almost full with stocks and she gets calls from customers at ungodly hours, he just lovingly smiles and understands.  
 
When it comes to building a business, Trisha believes that it’s okay to start small and take a few risks.  But one needs to be prepared for what lies ahead. She says, “Do something you love so that you are driven by passion. This will lead you to self-motivation.”  
 
Trisha loves the challenge of uncovering unique finds and sharing these with other moms. She also believes that a customer relationship is very important and tries to be personal by getting to know each customer’s preferences.  The goal of her business is not just to get the sale, but to develop a relationship with each customer. She has discovered a lot of amazing new friends and that is what makes having a business worthwhile.
 
Trisha thinks that the happiest people are not those who have it all, but those who like what they do.  She says, “Believe in yourself and in the beauty of your dreams.”
