It’s quite normal for us moms to cherish our bond with our kids, but there’s just something special about the relationship mothers and sons share (and also fathers and daughters). Take a look at these leading men who proudly embrace and wear the badge of being mama’s boys.
Mavy Legaspi
Mavy has admitted quite a number of times in the past that he’s a proud mama’s boy to mom Carmina Villarroel. In one of his birthday greetings to his mom, he quoted several lines from Robert Munsch’s book, Love You Forever, saying:
“I’ll love you forever,
I’ll like you for always,
As long as I’m living,
My Mommy you’ll be.”
Aside from changing the last line from “My baby you’ll be,” he also added the hashtag #MamasBoy.
Another instance is his Instagram post on the GMA Gala Night in 2022 when he captioned a photo of himself with his mom, stating, “with the most beautiful woman in the gala. Mama’s boy til’ the day that I die.”

LA Santos
In an interview, the actor did for his movie, In His Mother’s Eyes, LA admitted that he’ll forever be proud that he’s a mama’s boy. He said, “Habang buhay ako magiging proud. Kasi, mama’s boy naman talaga ako, tsaka parang…yung mommy ko po, ibinigay niya po yung buong buhay niya para sa akin. Kaya never po akong mahihiya na sabihing mama’s boy po ako.”

Raffy and Erwin Tulfo
Brothers Raffy and Erwin told Korina Sanchez in an interview that all of them are proudly mama’s boys because they were always with her. Erwin was considered the “favorite” in the brood because he was the youngest, while Raffy had a lot of hardships as he had to live with different relatives just to continue his studies. They further shared that their parents, including their mother, were disciplinarians who had no qualms meting out punishment whenever necessary.

Shortly after being named Second Prince in GMA-7’s artistasearch StarStruck, Rocco admitted that he’s a mama’s boy. He said, “Hindi ko pa kasi na-experience going out of town with a girlfriend or with friends. Pero siyempre, gusto ko ma-experience iyun. Medyo protective sa akin and mom ko. Alam niya kung anong pwedeng mangyari pag girlfriend ang kasama ko or pag friends ang kasama ko. May pagka-mama’s boy ako eh. Ngayon, mas maluwag naman na siya sa akin.”

Carlos Agassi
Carlos admitted in an interview that his being a mama’s boy is one of the reasons for the breakdown of a previous relationship. He said at that time, “Ano kasi ako, eh, Mama’s boy. And I care so much for my brothers, na how you treat my mom or how you treat my brother is very important to me. If my mother doesn’t like you and my brother doesn’t like you, even if I like you, well…” He also said at the time that his mother did not like his former girlfriend.
Andre Yllana
Andre is proud of his ‘stage mother,’ veteran actress, Aiko Melendez. In an interview for his romantic drama series, The Rain in España, he revealed that Aiko once talked him out of doing a kissing scene for a television miniseries. He shared, “She thought I wasn’t ready for it yet. So I told her that we can’t just keep declining such offers. But I respected her decision. And looking back, I now feel that it was the right thing to do. When I was told about the scene I had to do, I did think that maybe it was too soon. I need to prepare and be more confident.”
Andre further said that he doesn’t mind his mother being overprotective of him, saying, “I never felt embarrassed about it. She’s just supportive of me and wants me to stay in the right direction. If other people feel embarrassed about [being seen as a mama’s boy], not me. I’m actually proud of it. Because not everyone has the kind of relationship we have.”
