When you're a mom with young kids, your life is busy, no doubt. And because it's impossible to accomplish everything by yourself, you know some things have to be sacrificed, such as time, or friendships, or even the truth — come on, admit it, you've probably found yourself resorting to little lies in order to make life easier.
On the Smart Parenting Village Facebook Group, we asked moms to share the white lies they tell their kids every now and then. Check out these funny and relatable answers, and maybe you’ll find out that you have already used one (or some) of them!
“I have a 3 year-old, we never let her [eat] junk food so whenever my husband and I crave for instant noodles or chips, we will say that it is spicy so that she will not ask to taste it.” - Vanessa Rhea Mateo Almeyda
“[We say] 'Sorry the chips are spicy, [they're] only for mommy.' So, minsan nagtatago na lang ako ‘pag kumakain. Kawawa naman kasi. Or I give her her own 'chips' like Koko Krunch. Chips for me, Koko Krunch for her.” - Sherry Mae Briones-Nariz
– Pau Edra
“Softdrinks is spicy. Haha! Sprite = spicy water. Coke = spicy coffee.” - Inez Louisa Crisostomo
- Mamay Jane Bodiola
“I always say “wala na money si mom” but my 4-year-old daughter will answer, 'Sa wallet ni daddy mayroon pa' (and vice versa)" - Nhelly Belle
“Sinasabi namin, 'Pwede naman natin kainin ‘yan or bilhin ‘yan but the following day hindi na tayo kakain kasi napunta na lahat d’yan ‘yong budget natin.'” - Jesmar Ani Casiding
Pero dahil alam na nya value ng 100, he would always ask his lolo to give him a blue money.” - Abby Punzalan
Need to charge.” - Aurora Altuna Tolentino
