It’s that time of the year again for Christmas greetings and wishes. And if we’re going to play favorites, here’s one that’s definitely up there on our list: Jodi Sta. Maria’s Christmas post featuring their blended family.
“We are blended not broken”
Actress and mom, Jodi Sta. Maria opened her Christmas greeting post with this powerful line, along with a photo of her and son Thirdy, with former husband Pampi Lacson and his family, including partner Iwa Moto.
Jodi further said on her caption:
“God has created something beautiful out of brokenness. The relationship we have with each other as a blended family was made possible by His love and mercy. It is only [through] His grace that our family was redeemed, repaired, and renewed. Thank You Lord for this beautiful gift. Thank You for Your love. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone from our family to yours”

Iwa also shared the same photo and a video of the get-together, which also celebrates Thirdy’s 18th birthday. She said in the caption: “Happy birthday anak!!! Mahal ka naming lahat!!!”

A blended family is possible
Jodi and Pampi got married in 2005 then separated in 2011. Iwa and Pampi on the other hand, have been in a relationship since 2012 and have two children together, Hiromi Eve and Caleb Jiro.
The two actresses have since proven to be co-parenting and blended family goals–starting in 2015 when the two seem to have patched things up and spent time together with their kids, then 8-year old Thirdy and toddler Mimi. It was said at the time that Jody reached out to Iwa after the latter gave birth to Mimi.
In 2016, Jodi opened up about her separation with Pampi and how they made things work. She told Boy Abunda, "It's not something na pinilit namin, si Lord lang po talaga ang nag-restore nung aming relationship. Nakakatuwa lang na God makes everything beautiful in His own time.” She further shared at the time how they helped Thirdy deal with the separation, saying, “”We explained to him that it's not his fault. And that our love for him will never change.”
Jodi and Iwa first made headlines as friends in 2017 when they went on Instagram to show that they are gym buddies. The post garnered praise from the netizens: "So amazed with their relationships! No bitterness! Ang galing! Such an inspiration,” one user wrote. Another comment read, “Happy for you both. Sana lahat ganyan na lang may katahimikan sa puso bawat isa. God bless sa inyong dalawa.” One user even said Jodi and Iwa’s relationship are goals. “I adore you two for being such a good friend to each other and great mom,” the user added.
The following year, the two cemented their status as “co-parenting goals,” when in an interview, Jodi expressed her gratitude for Iwa’s friendship, calling her Thirdy's “pangalawang ina.” Jodi said at the time, "Alam mo, siguro there’s no greater feeling na malaman mo na yung anak mo, minamahal siya. Natutuwa ako na parang…yun nga ang sinasabi namin kay Thirdy. Hindi man nag-work out yung sa amin ng daddy niya, pero yung little family namin, yung blended family namin, di ba parang mas dumami pa yung mga taong nagmamahal sa kanya?”
In a 2019 interview, Jodi credited God for her harmonious relationship with Iwa and Pampi, saying, "If we didn't have God in our lives, I don't think that we will be to reach this point in our relationship." And on their co-parenting, she said, "We may not be together as partners, but we can co-parent our child in the best way we can, to be able to give him not only a bright future, but also to show him that despite the situation, kumbaga, magkakatuwang pa rin kami sa pagpapalaki sa kanya."
The three’s closeness is also evident in their Instagram greetings to each other, such as Pampi’s 40th birthday in 2019–wherein Iwa greeted Pampi with a post saying, "Happiest birthday to the man of my dreams... May 29 is the best day ever!!! Because God decided to make you. Mahal I will be forever grateful for having you in my life. I will love you for the rest of my life... you are my everything mahal and I will stay by your side through thick and thin... you are the love of my life.. I love you to the moon and back!!!!!" Jodi replied to this with, "Happy Birthday Pampi! Ang tanda mo na [grin emoji] May God grant you the desires of your heart." Iwa replied to the thread saying, "@jodistamaria bwahahaha. Natawa ako sa ang tanda mo na. Lol. Tara!!! Punta ka dto bahay. Magluluto ako konti." Pampi replied to both with: "@jodistamaria life begins at 40 hehhehe thank you," and to Iwa, "Thank you mahal. The best kang talaga i looooooove you!! And thank you."
Jodi also attended the baptism of Pampi and Iwa’s second child, their son, Caleb Jiro.
