  • Parent Review: Baby Gear for the Traveling Family

Mommy Anne Mac Santos gives you baby gear to make travelling with a baby in tow more fun and hassle free!
    by Anne Macalino-Santos .
  • My husband and I love to travel.  When we had a baby, we wondered how we could go on travelling. It's challenging yet still fun! A different kind of fun. You just have to equip yourselves with the right tricks and gadgets to help you out. Here are some baby gear for the travelling family like us who are always on the go.

The First Years Take 'n Toss Plastic Wares (for ages 9 months onwards)

Plastic spoons, forks and cups.  Don't be misled by the brand name.  These are not disposable, like the usual plastic wares we know. They are very durable and you can wash and use it over and over again. And they are cheap enough that you won't feel bad if you unintentionally leave them somewhere or if your child accidentally crushes them (he'll probably have to sit or step on it to do so). These are perfect for those who like travelling with their children. Comes in plain and your child's favorite Disney character design.
    Spoons & Forks – Php139.75 for 6 sets; Sippy Cups – Php199.75 for a pack of 4; Bowls with lids – Php199.75 for a pack of 6; Glass with straw – Php199.75 for a pack of 4

Available at Baby & Co. outlets

Safety First Inflatable Tub (from birth onwards)

Instead of the standard bath tub, consider this. It’s very portable.  You can easily inflate or deflate it with our without an air pump. You can put it in the shower or in an adult tub. You can even use this as your baby's own little pool beside the beach.  It’s really perfect for travelling, especially with babies or toddlers who can be extra squirmy in the bathroom.
This tub retails at Php999.17 and is available at Rustan's Department Store and Baby & Co. outlets

Take along Links (from birth onwards)

There are so many versions from so many brands, in all sorts of shapes and sizes, but try to get the ones that have rings the child can chew on (especially when he's teething) and rings that have almost no gaps so the links don't easily get detached from each other. Also get those that are sturdy enough to clasp on to your stroller, high chair, etc., while carrying even big toys.
Tag along links retails at approximately Php200 (depending on the brand) and are available at Rustan's Department Store, Baby & Co., and other leading department stores.
