Peachy Marasigan of Bubblewrap : Unique Trinkets and BagsHer creations are unique, useful and trendy.by Emilie N. Lucena .
Mompreneur: Peachy Consing-Marasigan
Her business idea:
Peachy sells bags, bag organizers, jewelry, hair accessories, bookmarks and other fun products she personally designed and created, all of which are available online. Her unique style and flair come out through the vibrant colors and fabulous designs of her items. Her products are a testament to her fun and bubbly personality.
How it started:
Peachy felt so guilty leaving her son to the care of his yaya that she said goodbye to the corporate world and other jobs that required her to work long hours. She decided to be a stay-at-home mom to spend time with her son, but the entrepreneurial bug which bore one graphic design company and two other businesses bit her once more -- and thus Bubblewrap was born. Together with her husband, she sold retro vintage shirts at a Christmas bazaar. They were such a hit that she decided to put up an online store to sell the shirts. She eventually learned the ins and outs of selling at Multiply. When she posted her first product, she immediately received a lot of inquires and more than a hundred views after only a day. This spurred her into expanding the business by creating a jewelry line, then eventually, venturing into bags. More products were launched after the initial success of her site.
Bubblewrap products have already attracted international buyers and Peachy ships regularly in bulk to Spain and Brunei. She also gets occasional orders from France, London, Saudi Arabia, US and Dubai. She is keen on expanding her international presence and is also excited to help other moms set up their businesses by acting as distributors of Bubblewrap products. Peachy finds supplying internationally quite interesting as she gets to learn more about the trends in other countries. For instance, Brunei women like larger bag sizes and colors that belong to the family of red, pinks and purples, while in European countries like Spain and France, neutral colors such as blacks, browns and dark blues are preferred.
Still, Peachy is happy to serve her local customers. She plans to expand Bubblewrap’s product lines further with new designs and unique items that they can look forward to. She constantly updates her site with her new offerings and also launches marketing promos to encourage customer loyalty and sustain their interest.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
