Like most parents, Aneth and Nap Lim have always encouraged their daughter Justine to expand her horizons and find her passion. During summer, on school break, getting into a sports program always seemed like a good idea, and the teenager would always indulge them—she did a few lessons on swimming, and a bit of tennis and badminton—except that these didn't interest her long enough. But in 2017, after experiencing the freedom skating on ice gave her, Justine knew she was on to something big.
Justine is one of seventeen members of the Philippine delegation to Bangkok, Thailand earlier in August for Skate Asia 2018. Put together, this team boasts of 50 gold medals, 43 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals!
But the road to achieving this feat wasn't easy—it took months of training and conditioning, coupled by the love and support of the athletes' parents and coaches. Watch their journey to the championship in the video below.
