Why They Love Being Moms: You’ll never know how much your mother loves you until you become a mother yourself. The best part about being a mom is the happiness you receive from being around your child. There is nothing out there that can make your heart fuller!

The Idea: When we were pregnant, we were constantly looking for the perfect memory book to record our babies’ special moments. After visiting mall after mall, we realized there was just a lack of this product in the market. This inspired us to come up with our own, and to sell them to moms out there. My Story memory book by Peapod was our first product. This was the “light bulb” for our little business.

On Their Inspirations: Our kids are our inspirations! Peapod was named after them (they’re the two peas in the pod in our logo). The designs of our products are derived from our needs as moms.  When we travel and try to keep them entertained, when we put our babies’ toys away, when we change or bathe them, we are constantly looking for ways to make our lives easier as parents.

What Makes it Unique: All our products are locally made. We try to meet parents and kids’ needs, and more importantly, we make sure our products are affordable, stylish and practical. As moms, we really know and understand how it is to have a budget and deal with rising expenses. Therefore, we really want to offer items that have value for money.

On Balancing Work with Family Time: Time management and setting priorities are keys to balancing work and family time. We set aside a specific time to catch up on work in the morning, or at night when the kids are asleep. The rest of the time is set for the babies. Of course, it’s also important to be flexible because every now and then, either work or the kids need your attention at a certain time. But that’s what’s great about working at home, the flexibility of our work schedule.

Advice for Aspiring Mompreneurs: If you have an idea, go for it! The mompreneur industry is growing and it’s great because there is really a need for good products in the market. Having a business of your own is very fulfilling.  At the same time, there is really nothing like spending a lot of time with your baby.  They’re only young once, and they grow up real fast! Be passionate about your work—as a mom and a mompreneur.
