  • Yasmien Kurdi has always believed that it's better to be creating unforgettable moments with the people you love, instead of spending on material luxuries for yourself.

And now that she has a family of her own, Yasmien is doing just that—creating unforgettable memories with husband Rey Soldevilla and daughter Ayesha Zara by traveling as much as they can.

In an interview with the Kapuso actress via Facebook messenger, she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that their travels have been mostly unplanned.

They are largely based on when they can free up their schedules.

Yasmien explained, “I try to make the most of my time now that I'm still free from taping schedules, because once I get to shoot again, it will be hard for me to excuse myself if I want to travel somewhere.

“Right now, ako lang yung nag-a-adjust sa schedule ni hubby since hindi pa ako ganun ka-busy.”

Even more fun, Yasmien and her family don’t need to spend much on their travels. Why? Because most of their plane tickets come from her husband's travel benefits.

Rey works as a pilot for Cebu Pacific. As the celebrity mom put it, “Bawas na rin talaga sa mga expenses namin when we travel.

“The supposed airfare, yun na ang panggastos namin for our accommodations, tours, and food.”

For now, the Soldevilla family’s travels are mostly “mga pang-kids, because of Ayesha.”

In the first week of August, for instance, their family jetted off to Singapore for a weekend getaway.

According to the StarStruck finalist, her four-year-old daughter wants to follow in her dad’s footsteps and become a pilot in the future.

Ayesha enjoyed third-wheeling with her parents at the Singapore Flyer.

Within the same month of August, they visited Japan’s Universal Studios.

The proud mother recalled that her little girl’s first plane ride happened when the kid was just nine months old.

She narrated, “I brought her with me because I have to tape for a Magpakailanman episode in Cebu.

"That time, medyo observant siya sa paligid, open na open yung eyes niya, at tahimik at first kasi bago yung environment sa kanya at marami siyang nakikitang tao…

“Eventually, laro na siya nang laro inside the plane.

“Hindi na rin siya natulog the whole flight.”

Sometimes, she and her husband also go on dates out of the country.

The last time was in September, when they landed in Bali, Indonesia.

Yasmien said, “Sometimes, when hubby goes on lay-overs in other countries for a few days, sumasama na rin ako, most especially kapag hindi ko pa napuntahan yung place.

“Sayang din at nalulungkot rin kasi siya… parang work and pleasure na rin for him.”

Her family’s dream is to go on a cruise.

According to Yasmien, Rey wants to experience an Asian cruise.

“Yun naman ang wish niya. Gusto niya, something slow and calm and refreshing, unlike sa plane, lahat kailangan mabilis,” she said.
