No Baby Talks! Andi Eigenmann Treats Her Daughters 'Like Adults'

Andi Eigenmann does not engage in baby talk with her two girls—Ellie Eigenmann, 8, and Lilo Alipayo, 1.

She said in her YouTube vlog dated October 18, 2020, "I like to be honest and real with my kids and talk to them like they're adults.

"That's my way of showing them that I respect them as human beings."

For Andi, this parenting approach can help make her daughters be more responsible, and become "people that I could trust to make good decisions and always do the right thing."

The actress stressed, "I feel like that's the reason why I don't like to deny or sugarcoat some things just because they're young.

"For me, it's been going well that way."

Consistent with her beliefs, she has been talking to Ellie and Lilo about life's ups and downs, and things that can happen beyond their control.

She said in her vlog, "I also like to teach my children the reality that, sometimes, things don't always go our way. And it's normal. It happens."

Like, for example, the pandemic.

Andi and the kids have been stuck in Manila since June 2020, away from her partner and Lilo's dad Philmar Alipayo.

She told her YouTube followers, "We've been really down because we've found out that we probably won't make it back to Siargao any time soon.

"We're in the middle of a pandemic, obviously, and times have been tough on a lot of us, if not, everyone.

"And I guess for our family, for the happy island fam in particular, this is how we've been mostly affected by it.

"We've been hoping to get back to the island since a couple months ago, and we've been looking forward to finally being with Philmar again and enjoying our happy island life.

"Being the happy islanders that we are and, of course, celebrating the fact that we're about to welcome a new member soon."

Andi is now 26 weeks pregnant with her second child with Philmar.

She said in a follow-up Instagram post: "I want to raise them to be aware that sometimes things just don't go our way, and that everything happens for a reason.

"And while it's okay to feel sad sometimes, it also doesn't hurt to find the silver lining in all of this.

"We're just so grateful to all be healthy and safe. And when the time comes that we do get to go back and all be together again, as Ellie says, it will be wonderful!"

Ellie is Andi's daughter with ex-boyfriend Jake Ejercito.
