Is Your Child Shy? Here's Dimples Romana's Secret To Raising A 'Super Ultra Introvert'

Dimples Romana once again flexed her eldest daughter Callie Ahmee for her latest achievement as a future pilot.

On Instagram, last January 8, the mom of three shared that her daughter passed her very first Commercial Pilot License exams in Australia for Aerodynamics.

According to the website of Australian Government Civil Aviation Safety Authority, a commercial pilot license (CPL) lets you fly an aircraft for work.

What's impressive about all this is this: Callie just turned 19.

Last November, Callie flew her first solo flight.

Raising a shy child

In her post, Dimples shared how she felt successful in raising her daughter, who's 'super ultra introvert' and one who has been very shy and reserved since she was four.

"Parenting an introvert taught me plenty, and that was patience, and ultimately how to listen to her without hearing the words," Dimples shared.

She explained, "When she was hungry or if something hurt, she cries in a corner. She never calls my attention only because Ate Cal never wants to bother mommy and often really wants attention to herself.

When she wanted something from me she either whispers it to me or she would look at it for a long time until of course eventually I figured out it would be something she’d be interested in doing or trying out. Like arts or sports."

Giving children freedom to become who they are

Dimples stressed, she believes they gave Ate Callie exactly what she needed as a child, and not only what they, as parents, want for her to be.

"When you’re a child of an artista, they almost always assume the children will take after the celebrity parent. And if Callie wanted to be one, we would’ve supported her. But clearly, it is not what she was keen on doing."

What she shared next on what they do at home is something that we need to keep in mind as parents.

"Boyet and I believed in giving the children what we feel they need to find their [own] paths and never be influenced by others as to who they want to become in the future - even us."

"Let the kids decide and embrace the way they are."

Dimples revealed what she thinks helped her bring out a very successful and strong-willed dreamer from who once was a shy, little girl.

"After years of listening, guiding, supporting, understanding, and giving Captain Callie what we felt would make her happiest and most empowered, she is now living her OWN DREAMS, CREATING her OWN PATH. And thriving and SOARING without having to change anything in her.

She added, "She is flying high, achieving so much and STILL she is that SAME, quiet, shy, reserved, light-hearted, sweet, and thoughtful introverted child she has always been."

We love how she emphasized OWN because indeed, they are their own person, and clearly, they owe us nothing. 

Finally, she shared the most important thing that we can takeaway as parents: "I’m happy when you are happy Ate. Keep doing YOU. Let the kids decide and embrace the way they are."
