A mom’s refusal to help take care of her teenage daughter’s robotic baby for a school assignment has gone viral on Facebook.
Lawren Galloway shared photos on Facebook of her exhausted 14-year-old daughter, Olivia, with her ‘baby’ William. The robotic baby was part of a school assignment for Olivia’s Early Childhood Education class where she was expected to care for the baby over the course of a weekend.
“She’s had him since Friday night. She is absolutely exhausted and ready to quit the class and give William back. It’s definitely been a learning experience,” Galloway wrote on Facebook.

In an interview with Buzzfeed, Lawren shares that the robotic baby has similar needs to a real baby. “The baby cries for its bottle, cries to be burped, rocked, and for a diaper change.” She adds that her daughter needs to tend to the baby every time it cries and it would wake her up when she was “dead asleep.”
“My favorite moment so far is when she came into my room last night around 3 a.m. She was crying real tears while feeding him his bottle. She was begging me to help her because she just wanted to get some sleep,” Galloway wrote on Facebook. “Yeah, no.”
Olivia, unfortunately, did not pass her assignment. As of writing, the post has over 137,000 shares on Facebook. Most of those who commented said every school in the United States should have it so kids can have a sneak peek of the hardships that come with being a parent. We agree!
